Fun with Jessica

This summer, Amelia and Soren spent part of each week with JoJo, and the rest of the week with one of her friends, Jessica.  The kids had a great time playing games, doing art projects, going to the park and library, and generally having fun.  In fact, Amelia and Soren were having so much fun, they often struggled to wake up in the morning.  Definitely a great summer!

Back to the Beach

Nana and Taid arrived in Seattle for a few days with their friends Chris and Hilary.  Amelia and Soren were having so much fun, they tried to prevent Nana and Taid from leaving by burying their feet in the sand.  Sadly, it didn't work.  But hopefully, they'll be back sometime soon!

Sun River

In mid-August, we headed down to Sun River, Oregon, for Mommy and Daddy's tennis team's sectional playoffs.  We rented a house with the rest of the team, including four other kids for Amelia and Soren to play with.  The kids immediately formed their own gang, took over the bunk beds downstairs, and were inseparable the entire weekend.  Despite the long car rides each way, Amelia and Soren asked if we could do it again next summer, so long as we can stop for ice-cream sundaes and milkshakes both ways again!

Movie Day

It was a tough choice which movie to go see for our friend Alexei's birthday, but we think Planes was probably the right option...

Another Night in the Woods

After having an awesome time on last year's rain-soaked camping trip, Amelia and Soren were begging to go camping again.  Luckily, our friends had reserved a great campsite on a beautiful, sunny weekend.  After Amelia pitched our tent, we all headed down to a nearby river, where the kids spent the afternoon exploring various swimming holes and playing games in the woods.  We had a fun meal around the campfire, and then Amelia read some bedtime stories to the other kids.  The next morning, we hiked up to a nearby glacier and had a mid-summer snowball fight!

Happy Independence Day!

We had a packed party schedule for the Fourth of July, including cousin Jeana's annual party down at Lake Sammamish and an evening barbeque at Goggy's.  Clearly, Amelia and Soren know how to party in style!
