Round and Round

Amelia kept everyone entertained during Thanksgiving dinner by running in circles and surprising us each time.

Thanksgiving

Amelia's first Thanksgiving in Seattle was a lot of fun - all of her grandparents and her auntie Zoe and uncle Davie came for dinner. The centerpiece of the feast was our heritage turkey from a local farmer, which not only looked like it had once walked around and flapped its wings, but also tasted delicious!

Halloween

It's hard to believe Amelia is old enough to have celebrated two Halloweens! This year she was obsessed with "bumkies" (pumpkins) and while she liked the crocodile costume in theory, she wasn't the biggest fan of wearing the croc's head!

First Haircut

Amelia recently got her first "real" haircut. Amelia let her mom cut her bangs once, but from now on we've now decided to leave it to the pros.

Joyce

Last week Amelia went to My Coffeehouse with Joyce, her former au pair. Looks like they had a good time - we miss you Joyce!

Spinning Like a Top

Amelia loves spinning around. Unfortunately, like most things she enjoys, she doesn't really know when to call it quits!

New Friend

Amelia recently made friends with a real baby - baby Zoe, daughter of our friends Amy and Darcy.

Blueberry Pie

Sadly, summer seems to have come to an end here in the Pacific Northwest. However, we've got a lot of fun memories from the past few months, including Amelia's first attempt to eat blueberry pie, a family favorite. You've got to love her gusto, though her spoon skills could use some work!

Paella

Last week we went Grandpa Charlie and Grandma Becky's house for some delicious paella. Amelia fed herself applesauce - she gets a little better with the spoon each time!

Poor Baby

Amelia got her MMR vaccine last week, and this weekend it caught up with her. She's had a high fever and has been very sleepy and cuddly. Fortunately she seems back to her old self today.

Dip

Amelia loves eating just about anything that involves dipping - even if means dipping into chili sauce!

Sunday in Seattle

This Sunday we took a trip to Wallingford to try a new ice cream shop. Amelia played with the owner's dog and some locals directed us to a fun park nearby.

Blue Angels!

Amelia went down to the lake with Daddy and Auntie Zoe to see the Blue Angels. It seemed like almost everyone else in Seattle was down there too! It was a great show and a beautiful afternoon!

Sitting with Baby

Amelia has recently figured out how to sit down on some of the cute chairs that some friends sent after she was born. She has also fallen in love with "Baby," a Cabbage Patch Kid her Grandma gave her (though Jonathan thinks it looks more like a Garbage Pail Kid). Here, both Amelia and Baby make use of the chairs.

Auntie Zoe's Quick Visit

Amelia's Auntie Zoe stopped by for a one-day visit on her way to Taiwan. Amelia took the chance to show her a few of her favorite hangouts, including taking Zoe out for brunch and a pizza dinner (Amelia's favorite)!

Emmylou

When Amelia was just 10 days old, we took her to see Herbie Hancock at the Zoo. A year and a bit later, she got to see Emmylou Harris. It was a lot harder to keep her still this time around - fortunately the nesting dolls buy us 10 minutes of peace every time we bring them out!

Beijo, Baby

Amelia has been obsessed with babies lately. She was quite taken with the baby on the diaper package this morning, and has been giving him kisses all day.

Water

Summer weather feels like a distant memory in Seattle these days, but just a few short weeks ago, Amelia was happy to discover the joys of running water on a hot day.
