Miami: Friends

One of the best things about our Miami trip was the chance to spend some time with some of Katie's Brazilian friends and their kids. Fabricio, Fabiana, Bia, Mimi and Dede had us over for a great barbeque and afternoon of swimming. We then spent a few days at Pompano Beach with Luciana, Rodrigo and Bella. Amelia and Soren had a great time meeting and playing with their new friends!

Miami: Wildlife

Amelia and Soren got to see lots of new plants and animals during our vacation. We took a day trip to the Everglades and also visited a turtle research facility and a butterfly/bird preserve. Amelia particularly loved seeing pineapples growing at the butterfly/bird preserve!

Miami: Food

We had some tasty seafood and Cuban food, including a yummy lunch in Little Havana, but our most memorable food stop was at Robert is Here, an amazing fruit stand that also had a milkshake bar. We opted for a passionfruit smoothie and a strawberry-key lime milkshake...Soren and Amelia kept trading them back and forth and asking for more

Miami: Hotels, Beach & Pools

We had a great time on our recent trip to Miami and Pompano Beach, Florida. We found the most kid-friendly hotel on South Beach, and the kids loved the beach, pool and view of both from our room. Fun times!

Summertime bathing

During some recent work on our house, we had to vacate the upstairs and make a few changes to our normal routine. While Amelia and Soren both enjoyed camping out in our living room, they had slightly different reactions to the new location for their baths:

Swimming at Goggy's

Summer finally arrived in Seattle in mid-July, and we've been spending many of our sunny weekend days at Goggy's house. While the kiddy pool was initially the place to be, both Soren and Amelia have been spending more and more time in the big pool, particularly since Goggy found Soren some fashionable swimwear, circa 2250.

BBQ at Grandpa's

We had a great time celebrating Grandpa's birthday. We all enjoyed some great food, but Soren decided that Grandpa and Mommy were being a little too delicate, so he took over their plates and showed them how to eat. Later on, Amelia organized some fun games involving a huge cardboard box.
