Birthday Fun

Soren and Amelia's friend Avery had a birthday party with a special friend:  Dora (or at least a woman who wore clothes that were generally the same color and had a backpack).  The kids were half-excited and half-confused at first, but soon got into the spirit, particularly when "Dora" started making some truly impressive balloon art, including Amelia's Hello Kitty and Soren's Spiderman.

Fun Beach Days

We had some unseasonably hot weather this weekend and headed to a new park on Lake Washington.  The kids had a great time splashing around, and then we headed inside to get a nice cool treat!

Rock Band

We had a fun playdate with Soren's friend Monty and his big brother Max.  Soren fell in love with Max's drum set and tried to start an all-drums band with Monty and Amelia.  They were a little big rough, but give them time and it could be a hit...

Happy Easter

We had a fun time hunting for eggs in the front garden with Goggy...definitely one of Amelia and Soren's favorite holidays!

Gymnastics

We took the kids to an open play hour at the Seattle Gymnastics Academy on a recent rainy day. They had a great time exploring the various apparatus and found a few favorites, including the foam pit, trampolines and balance beam. Look for a couple of fun videos in the next few days!

Non-scenic hike

With some unseasonably warm weather this weekend, we decided to take a new, supposedly scenic, hike on the Eastside. Sadly, the trailhead was mere feet from the interstate and the trail continued to follow the highway for at least a few miles. However, after raising some questions about the choice of trail, Amelia and Soren did a great job of hiking. They particularly got into the idea of hiking sticks, competing to find the longest ones they could find!
