Birthday Party

Amelia and Soren had a great time celebrating their birthdays at the Sandbox, an indoor beach volleyball  venue.  Lots of their classmates joined the party, and enjoyed playing in the sand, learning how to actually play volleyball from the kids' babysitter Libby, playing ping-pong and foosball, and eating lots of treats and cake.  Hopefully, the kids will still be interested in another fun joint birthday party next year!

The Cake Makers

Soren and Amelia took a keen interest in their birthday cakes this year, helping Nana to design, make and decorate them both:  a butterfly (with a butterfinger center) for Amelia, and a friendly tiger (with a gummy bear mouth) for Soren.

Family Fun

Nana, Taid and Auntie Zoe came out to Seattle for the kids' birthdays.  They brought the good weather from the East Coast, so we spent a lot of time outside enjoying Seattle in the summer!

 

Dancing Queens

Our friends Hannah and Natalie came over with their parents for a BBQ, and under Hannah's expert guidance, Amelia and Natalie put on an impressive dance show.

Superheroes

After lots of practice dressing up as superheroes at home, Amelia and Soren were finally invited to a superhero birthday party for our neighbor Will.  Amelia helped Soren make a mask to complete his Spiderman costume and even persuaded Mommy to show off her Superman socks!

Soren's Spectacle

Soren's class had their end-of-year "Spectacle" show of songs and dance.  Soren wasn't particularly excited to be up on stage at the beginning of the show, but got more comfortable with each song, and by the end, he was smiling and singing loudly.
