Greece Part III: Naxos

The highlight of the trip for us was the island of Naxos, which was just a bit sleepier and more relaxing than the other spots we visited. St George's beach has a great shallow bay, and a little farther out, Plaka beach was gorgeous and uncrowded. Lots of good food too!

Greece Part II: Santorini

Bright and early on Amelia's birthday, we sailed to Santorini. We stayed down near the beach so we'd have better access to beaches and pools, but visited the hill towns to take in the spectacular views and delicious food. Visiting Santorini requires lots of hiking up steep stone steps and narrow alleys, but the kids powered through!

Greece Part I: Crete

We recently returned from an exciting trip to Greece. We have lots of pictures to share, so will have to do this in parts!

Our first stop was Heraklion, Crete. Quite a place to burn off the jet lag! We stayed in a beautiful beach front bungalow, ate great food, visited the Palace of Knossos and played on the beach. Needless to say, everyone slept really well on Crete!

Happy Mother's Day

We lucked into a beautiful, sunny Mother's Day here in Seattle. We had a tasty brunch with Goggy, Uncle Wavy and Jocelyn, before Grandpa and Grandma Becky joined us to play in the park. Soren finished off the afternoon with a long game of Thunderstick "baseball" with Goggy in the backyard.

Easter Fun

Easter was a whirlwind of fun and sugar. Amelia and Soren woke Goggy up early to help them search for all of the eggs the Easter Bunny had left hidden around the house. Amelia did a great job of helping Soren with his search...making sure that he ended up with almost as many eggs as she did! Soren proceeded to polish off all of the eggs in his basket, both chocolate and hard-boiled. Grandpa and Grandma Becky stopped off later on to drop off some more chocolate and an Easter Bunny kickball, which Soren spent the rest of the day kicking around. And of course, everyone spent a lot of time playing with the wind-up, jellybean-laying Easter Bunny on the table!

Passover Seder

We had a fun Passover seder this year. Goggy joined us and the kids helped out with all of the preparations for the festive meal. Amelia helped make the special Passover gnocchi, while Soren took charge of breaking all of the matzoh for everyone! Everyone enjoyed the meal, though Soren focused more on finishing everything left on the Seder plate!

Young Artist

Amelia is quite the artist, and has recently been focusing her attentions on the specialized field of Fruit Loop necklaces. Soren is her biggest fan, and Amelia has been kind enough to let him help her when she inevitably decides to eat her creations
