Apples and Pears

Fall has definitely arrived, so we headed out to Jones Creek Farm to pick some apples and Asian pears.  Amelia and Soren spent a lot of time tasting the different varieties, and we ended up bringing lots of apples and pears back, as well as some cider that we found at a nearby stand.  The kids also enjoyed brunch at a local restaurant, where Amelia drew a beautiful butterfly.

 

Cinderella

Amelia and Mommy had another girls' date to the ballet to see Cinderella.  Amelia enjoyed the ballet and showed off some new ballet moves once she arrived home, though much of her excitement seemed to relate to the cupcake she had at intermission...once you see it, you'll understand why!

Getting Ready for the Wedding

With Auntie Zoe's wedding only a few weeks away, Amelia's flower girl dress finally arrived.  Amelia had a lot of fun trying it on, and can't wait for the actual day to arrive!

OJ for the Break Fast

Soren has discovered the joys of juicing using Mommy's juicer.  He insisted on squeezing an entire box of oranges for the orange juice at our break-fast.  Happily, we had a lot of thirsty guests, so we didn't waste a drop!

Party with old friends

This weekend, Soren had a great reunion with a bunch of his old preschool friends at his buddy Monty's birthday party.  The kids had a lot of fun playing in a variety of bouncy houses before tucking in to some hot dogs, pizza and cake (which Amelia especially enjoyed).  Soren was very happy that Monty loved his Thomas water bottle, and had a great time hanging out with his good friend Maseo.

Breakdancing to Baby Goo Goo

Amelia and Soren love their Lady GaGa (or Baby Goo Goo as they've always called her) and Soren decided to show off some new dance moves when Bad Romance came on at their friends Julia and Ethan's house.  We're not exactly sure where he developed his mashup of breakdancing and the worm, but he had a great time showing off!

Guys' Weekend

Amelia and Mommy went to Denver for the weekend to visit one of Mommy's law school friends, so Soren and Daddy had a guys' weekend in Seattle, which included tattoos (with Soren's friend Autumn and her little sister Sonia), beerping-pong, Soren's first round of mini-golf, a crab dinner and root beer floats.  It's hard to imagine the girls could have had as much fun as the guys this weekend!

Fun in the Sun

It looks like summer isn't done with us yet, so we took advantage of the sunny weather to walk to the beach just down the hill to catch some rays and play in the sand.

First Day of School

Amelia and Soren had their first day of school today.  Soren has joined Amelia at the French American school this year, and so far, he seems to love it!

Not the famous ones, but Amelia, Soren and Uncle Wavy make some pretty funny ones!

Last Days of Summer

The weather has cooled off a bit as we move into September, but things warmed up a bit over Labor Day weekend, and the kids insisted on finding a splash park.  Unfortunately, we had forgotten to pack swimsuits, but we didn't let that get in the way!

Dungeness Spit

With Mommy off at a tennis tournament, Amelia, Soren and Daddy took advantage of some great weather to make a day trip up to the Olympic Penninsula.  We stopped for lunch in Port Gamble and explored the impressive collection of shells and sea creatures at the General Store.  Afterwards, we hiked out on the Dungeness Spit and spent a couple of hours playing with the sand, stones and massive driftwood trees.  Finally, we capped things off with a dinner of clams and milkshakes before catching the ferry home.
