We had our first summer afternoon at Goggy's for the year today. We were there during low tide, so the kids spent some time wandering along the beach, checking out the tide pool, collecting shells and trying to skim rocks into the Sound. We then wandered back to Goggy's, where Amelia did some hard-core outdoor coloring, while Soren defended his watermelon-eating championship. Hopefully, this is the first of many similar weekend days this summer!

Parasols and Skateboards
Mother's Day was another beautiful day, so we grabbed some early pastries and headed over to a new park. Soren decided the sun was too strong, so he insisted on wandering around with an umbrella, while the girls tackled the climbing blocks. Later on we discovered a skateboarding area and the kids sat mezmerized. Soren hasn't stopped asking for a skateboard ever since...

Beach Hike
We've been having some beautiful weathers recently, particularly on the weekends. Yesterday was another lovely day, so Amelia and Daddy took a hike down to Lake Washington. Amelia had a great time jumping over the waves and writing her name in the sand at the beach. On the way back, she focused on collecting as many hiking sticks as possible.

Ball Surfing
Soren recently got a large Spiderman ball, and he and Amelia developed a brand-new sport: ball surfing. Definitely one of the most fun afternoons we have had in a while!!!

New Playground
We were recently driving through Redmond and came across a park full of trees with colorful sweaters. The kids ran over to investigate and came across a great playground, which included a zipline. Amelia decided to try it and fell in love, swinging again and again, while Soren met a little girl and helped her fill the sandpit with water. Fun times!
