Amelia loves to help out around the house. She's recently been helping her Daddy water the plants, though she is as interested in getting herself wet as in making sure that the plants get enough water.

Amelia loves trying on her Daddy's ties in the morning. It's so hard to choose just one!

Visit from Nana and Taid

Shortly after Soren's arrival, Nana and Taid came out to Seattle for a visit. Soren spent much of the time sleeping, but Amelia kept Nana and Taid busy, making sure that they got to visit all of her favorite parks, the beach and her Goggy's house. As a result, Soren wasn't the only one sleeping like a baby!

We recently attempted to get a good shot of Soren for his birth announcement, and all of a sudden Amelia lost her camera shyness, and wanted to be part of the show!

Soren's Bris

Soren's Bris was held last Wednesday. To get read for the big moment, he had his first glass of wine: several dips of his binky in a cup of Manishevitz. Amelia stood guard over Elijah's chair until the ceremony began. It was a beautiful ceremony and a beautiful day, and we were very grateful that so many of our friends and family could make time in their day to join us!

Welcome, Soren!

By now I'm sure you've all heard the tale of Soren's speedy arrival into this world. We're still a little bit in shock, but are home now and adjusting to life with our newest family member. Here's where it all took place - we resisted the nurses' suggestion to name him Level B or Honda Civic:

So far, Soren is a mellow baby and a big eater. Amelia is taking Soren's arrival in stride and has taken responsibility for knowing the location of his pacifier at all times. Amelia came to check him out in the hospital, but quickly decided that her new bead set was more interesting. She did make him a necklace this morning, though!

Birthday Party

Amelia's Grandpa and Goggy came over to help us celebrate Amelia's birthday last night. Amelia got balloons and presents from her friends and family, and enjoyed a delicious dinner of ketchup and chocolate cake. Good times!
